Node.js 26: What’s New in Core, and Why It Matters

Modern Node.js is not just faster. It is easier to build with, easier
to debug, and easier to ship confidently. This talk highlights the
most useful new core APIs and behavior changes leading up to Node.js 26, emphasizing the developer experience improvements that matter in production: Promise-based interfaces, web-aligned primitives (URL, fetch, Web Streams), simpler testing, stronger security defaults, and better built-in diagnostics. We will walk through concrete “old way vs new way” patterns so you can see the payoff in readability and reliability.

You will leave knowing which APIs you have likely been missing, which upgrades to prioritize first, and how to adopt them with minimal risk and maximum impact

Vorkenntnisse

  • Familiarity with common Node.js patterns
  • Basic understanding of dependency management and upgrades

Lernziele

  • Know what is new in Node.js core leading up to 26
  • Debug faster with built-in diagnostics and profiling
  • Replace legacy patterns with simpler “new way” approaches
