Diversity

The group of professional JavaScript developers is as diverse as the projects that spring from it. Since this is an embodiment of the industry’s potential for innovation, we want this diversity to be visible in our line-up. To this end, we hold many discussions in the run-up to the conference, are always on the lookout for people with special expertise and have an open ear for suggestions.

Evaluation processes are anonymous in the first round to not give any room to unconscious prejudices. Ultimately, this benefits everyone - diversity on the stage also leads to diversity in front of it in the long term and can thus kickstart impulses outside of the conference programme. However, innovation also requires a certain amount of respect and security, so that everyone has the same chance to be heard and to be involved. In order to create such an atmosphere at enterJS, it is important to us that speakers, exhibitors and conference topics adhere to our Code of Conduct.

We work hard in front of and behind the scenes to give everyone a good conference experience, but we rely on everyone's help. Code of Conduct

For a respectful collaboration and a welcoming culture

The enterJS team endeavours to ensure that all participants, regardless of their gender, ethnic origin, religion, ideology, impairment, age or sexual identity, can participate in the conference without discrimination or harassment.

In the event of harassment or behaviour that crosses a line against participants during the conference, the organisers will endeavour to ensure that this ceases immediately.

Unwanted behaviour of this kind includes insulting, discriminatory or sexualised use of words and images in talks, workshops, evening events and when using online media such as Twitter or Facebook.

This also includes unwanted physical contact, annoying picture and sound recordings, stalking as well as intentionally disruptive behaviour that leads to repeated interruption of parts of the event.

If participants become victims of harassment or similar behaviour or observe them, please contact the organisation team.

The enterJS team takes all such concerns seriously and decides how to respond appropriately. In such a case, the team will take care of the harassed person and will decide, within the framework of the house rules, how a repetition can be avoided.

Diversity Tickets

The enterJS team tremendously values respectful cooperation and a balanced degree of diversity. This applies both to our programme and to our audience. Therefore, enterJS offers a contingent of free conference tickets for 2020, which are financed by the organizers and enable people from underrepresented groups to participate in our conference.

If you are part of an underrepresented group in the technology industry, you can apply for a ticket. These include, but are not limited to: women, people with a migration background, LSBTTIQ+ people, people with disabilities or people struggling with social or economic difficulties.

The closing date for applications for a Diversity Ticket for the year 2020 is 30 April 2020. To apply, simply send an e-mail to Melanie Feldmann and/or Björn Bohn. The organisers will inform applicants of the status of their applications by mid-May. If you would like to support us by sponsoring additional diversity tickets, you are welcome to contact us by e-mail.

Child Care

We are very happy to be able to offer free childcare at this year's enterJS. The experienced and trained caretakers of our partner Proki Kinderevents will take care of up to ten children of our participants all day on both conference days.
