Diversity

The group of professional JavaScript developers is as diverse as the projects that spring from it. Since this is also where the innovation potential of the industry lies, we want this diversity to be visible in our line-up. To this end, we hold many discussions in the run-up to the conference, are always on the lookout for people with special expertise and are open to suggestions.

In the first instance, our evaluation processes are anonymous in order to avoid unconscious bias. Ultimately, this benefits everyone - diversity on stage also leads to diversity in front of the stage in the long run and can thus also provide new impulses outside of the lecture programme. However, innovation also needs a c ertain amount of respect and security so that everyone has the same chance to be heard and to contribute. In order to create just such an atmosphere at enterJS, it is important to us that speakers, exhibitors and conference participants adhere to our Code of Conduct.

We work hard in front of and behind the scenes to ensure that everyone has a good conference experience, but we need everyone's support.

Code of Conduct

For a respectful collaboration and a welcoming culture

The enterJS team endeavours to ensure that all participants, regardless of their gender, ethnic origin, religion, ideology, impairment, age or sexual identity, can participate in the conference without discrimination or harassment.

In the event of harassment or behaviour that crosses a line against participants during the conference, the organisers will endeavour to ensure that this ceases immediately.

Unwanted behaviour of this kind includes insulting, discriminatory or sexualised use of words and images in talks, workshops, evening events and when using online media such as Twitter or Facebook.

This also includes unwanted physical contact, annoying picture and sound recordings, stalking as well as intentionally disruptive behaviour that leads to repeated interruption of parts of the event.

If participants become victims of harassment or similar behaviour or observe them, please contact the organisation team.

The enterJS team takes all such concerns seriously and decides how to respond appropriately. In such a case, the team will take care of the harassed person and will decide, within the framework of the house rules, how a repetition can be avoided.

Diversity Tickets

The enterJS team puts great emphasis on respectful cooperation and a balanced degree of diversity. This applies to our programme as well as to our audience. For this reason, enterJS is once again providing a contingent of free conference tickets for 2023, which will enable people from underrepresented groups to take part in our conference.

These include, but are not limited to: women, people with a migration background, LSBTIQ* people, people with disabilities or people struggling with social or economic difficulties.

The deadline for applications for a Diversity Ticket is May 31, 2023. To apply, simply send an email to Melanie Andrisek with a few sentences on why you are eligible for a Diversity Ticket. All information will be treated confidentially and will not be passed on to third parties.

If you would like to support us with a sponsorship for additional diversity tickets, you are welcome to email our sponsorship contact Tarik.
