Call for Proposals

Der Call for Proposals ist auch auf Deutsch verfügbar.

In 2019, enterJS will present developers with a place to exchange experiences made using JavaScript in a business context and talk about the challenges that go along with it for the fourth time.

Since the first edition of the conference, more and more people got familiar with the once foreign language, but if you dive deep enough there always is something new to learn, and changing demands make sure there still is a lot to talk about.

Therefore, the organisers of enterJS – heise Developer, iX and dpunkt.verlag – cordially invite interested parties to send in their proposals for workshops and talks (45 or 75 minutes) until Jan 21st, 2019.

We also offer the possibility to nominate speakers you would like to see in our line-up by using our Call for Suggestions.

The event is held in the darmstadtium in Darmstadt, Germany, from June 25th to 28st, 2019.

The team of the enterJS would like to once again point all speakers towards the Code of Conduct and to ensure that everyone adheres to it.

Legal aspects

The aim of enterJS is to get into topics, that are relevant to developers using JavaScript in businesses of different sizes. While planning a talk you should keep in mind what exactly it is about your specific topic that is interesting to your audience. Another aspect to think about is that the knowledge of your audience varies.

To better assess your proposals we would like you to add some keywords (e.g. your main topic, the tools you use, …), one sentence describing what your audience should already know, and another one stating what they can expect to learn during the talk.

Your proposal should be written in a precise and concise manner so that the program committee has a chance to get a good idea of the content you are planning to get across. If you're short on speaking experience and need help with your proposal, e.g. because you are unsure with formulations, we are happy to assist you via email. Feel free to contact us and to send your draft, so that together we can try to figure something out. We also compiled a list of articles that might help you along the way.

Organisational matters

To secure objectivity, the review process is anonymised, which means that the program committee doesn't know a proponent's name or company while discussing a proposal. Talks with the sole purpose of marketing your product aren't eligible for the review process. If you're interested in giving one anyway, you should get in touch with our contact for sponsoring.

Speakers will get free entrance to both conference days as well as the necessary stays in a hotel near the venue and the journey to and from Darmstadt (2nd class train ticket). Workshop instructors will receive a financial reward on top. Speakers, who have to fly in, should contact us regarding the financing of their trip.
